Reddit's own video host serves the picture and the sound as two independent streams. Resolving a v.redd.it link therefore tends to return a video track and an audio track separately, and a downloader that ignores this hands you a silent file.

This page lists both streams and labels them, so you know before downloading whether the file needs combining with a muxing tool. Only download posts you own or have permission to save.

Copy the post link
Use the share option on the post, or copy the v.redd.it address directly. Both a full comments permalink and a bare video link are accepted by the validator.

Resolve the two streams
The provider returns the media tracks it can see. They are shown as separate rows, with the video-only or audio-only nature of each row stated plainly.

Download and mux if needed
If you took a video-only row, pair it with the audio row and combine them with a local tool such as ffmpeg. Nothing is merged on this server.

Separate tracks made visible

The result panel marks which rows are video-only and which are audio, so the split-stream behaviour of Reddit is visible instead of hidden behind one misleading combined entry.

Comments links accepted

A full permalink to a post works as well as a direct v.redd.it media URL, because the post id is extracted and the upstream request rebuilt before it is sent.

No silent substitution

If a row has no working link it is reported as unavailable. The tool does not quietly swap in a lower-quality stream and pretend it was the one you picked.

High-quality Reddit video usually arrives without audio, and merging the two streams is a local step this site does not perform.
Some browsers refuse to play a lone audio stream from Reddit, so download the file and play it from your device instead.
Provider download links expire quickly, and quarantined, deleted or private posts will not resolve at all.
